Retirement Planning IV: Estate Planning In Retirement Part 1: Will Basics
What happens if you have no will? What happens to your retirement plans? How will your assets flow to your heirs? What happens if you are incapacitated? What can you do to make sure you have the right team in place before an unexpected incapacity or a death? In this presentation, learn the things you need to know if you are going to prepare your own will, or how to find an attorney to help with your trust & estate plan. We will also highlight changes to the Federal exemption amount impacting large estates.
Retirement Planning V: Estate Planning in Retirement Part 2: Integrating Financial & Estate Plans
High-net-worth clients' financial assets require particular care. Failing to integrate financial and estate plans may inadvertently derail other legacy objectives. In this presentation, we will discuss how all of your advisers (financial professionals, CPAs, lawyers) complement each other, how estate and financial planning dovetail, and the importance of a survival analysis to ensure your wishes are respected and honored.
Retirement Planning VI: QCDs: Qualified Charitable Distributions
Do you know anyone with an IRA who is over 70.5 and charitably inclined? QCDs (Qualified Charitable Distributions) are useful tools to transfer funds to charity out of an IRA without triggering taxable income. QCDs can also be used in connection with RMDs (Requirement Minimum Distributions) for IRA owners age 73 or older and beneficiaries of inherited IRAs of any age. This presentation will give you some basic details and resources to research the subject further.
