If you have not yet received your economic impact payment, the IRS has created a portal for you to check the status of your payment and whether more information is needed from you, such as your bank account information. Quoting from the IRS website:
To access the information you may need:
- Your 2019 return, if filed, and
- Your 2018 return
Data is updated once per day overnight, so there's no need to check back more than once per day.
Note: If you receive an SSA or RRB Form 1099 or SSI or VA benefits, your information is not yet available in this application.
Reasons You May Get “Status Not Available”
Get My Payment will return “Payment Status Not Available” if:
- The application doesn’t yet have your data, or
- You are not eligible for a payment.

Didn't file a return in 2018 or 2019?
If you have a filing requirement and have not filed a tax return for 2018 or 2019, you must file a 2019 tax return to receive the payment.
